Happy Valentine’s Day!

I just love this day, don’t you? For me, it’s not about flowers, candy, jewelry, or an expensive dinner out. Don’t get me wrong, those things are lovely and certainly generous. To me this day is really about celebrating our capacity as human beings to love, and being grateful for the abundance of love we have in our lives. Hopefully we tell the people we care about “I love you” every day, but life moves pretty fast and before we know it, an opportunity to declare our love and express our gratitude for the love we receive slips through our hands. But we can seize this day. Boldly say “I love you” to our life partners, mothers, fathers, brothers, sisters, and friends. Be romantic, be silly, be real. Do it now! I love you all so much for your love and support. So tell me, how will you celebrate your love today?

(The piece above is an 6″ x 6″ recycled stretched canvas panel. Paper collage, fluid acrylics, pencil work, watercolor crayons, Posca marker pen, and glossy accents on some of the hearts.)

I will celebrate my love today the way I do everyday, with a prayer of gratitude for the abundance of love in my life and the ability to feel it so deeply and express myself authentically. I will celebrate by working on artful expression for those I love, as I do most days as well. Wonderful piece you have made your sweetie by the way, very adorable face there!!- JBV
