Ah, Saturday

The sky greeted us with this lovely view as we were on our way to Four Spoons for breakfast.

While waiting for our food, Brian did his usual thing…taking pictures of me taking pictures!

I am so attracted to commercial kitchens. Some wonderful meals come out of this tiny little kitchen.

After breakfast we headed toward the Pike Place Market, which was teaming with activity.

Brian & I both took a lot of pictures

Looking at flowers through the wind break

Such a riot of floral color

Tons of fresh fish piled high

And all the seasonal favorites

Great signage in the market

Current yet classic. We are so fortunate to be in such proximity to this great market.

Street musicians

Card tricks (this guy had such a great personality)

A view through the window at Beecher’s Cheese. Separating the curds from the whey.

Brian & I keep talking about moving to Southern California, but when we have a day like today with the weather and the market, I question our sanity!

After the market, we spent the afternoon hanging out at home

(used a fun painterly app here called Toon Camera)

Then we got motivated to remove the covers from outdoor furniture on our front deck.

We usually don’t do this till May, but we’ve had so many fabulous Spring days here in Seattle I just decided to go for it! We spent the remainder of the afternoon out there.

Hope your weekend was grand. Thanks for stopping by.

  1. Great title for this but I think Brian is sitting in my chair on the patio. It has my name on it!

What fun! An awesome market with tons of flowers to choose from. I love what the app does for the image of Brian with the tulips. Very cool!

It looks like the perfect Saturday! Gorgeous photos, I especially like the flowers through the windbreak.

Kansas City has an area, City Market, similar to Pikes Place but much smaller I’m sure. I used to go all the time when I lived in the city. You’ve inspired me to make the trip again as it has been a while since I’ve been there.

    Have a great week!

The image that caught my eye was the one of the colorful and unusual veggies. Fiddlehead ferns – I’ve eaten them once, at a restaurant here in Maine. I liked them! And I love artichokes…but I’ve never seen purple ones before.

Love all of your market images Carol! We love Pike’s! I really hope the changes that they want to make down there doesn’t distroy the “feel” of that place. What are your thoughts about that? Also…although I’ve never lived in So Cal (only visited often when living in Las Vegas) that place has such a different vibe than here. People are different there in my opinion. I think of it as a place to visit, not live. Ok, now that I’ve come down from my soap box I wish you another lovely day and embrace the rain tomorrow!

  7. Julia says:

What an exciting expedition! What do you do with fiddlehead ferns?!

Your photos are wonderful! Takes me back to last summer’s trip and your Crab Fest. We had The.Best.Time! Thank you again for such awesome memories! xo

What a terrific day! I’m really envious that you have that wonderful market so near to you. What a treat! I love the photo that Brian took of you. 😀

Thanks for the trip to the Market. There is nothing like the market here in Florida. Seeing the flowers makes me so nostalgic. Wow.

The wonder of a Saturday. I’m sure glad we get to have one every week.

your day sounds perfect. We visited Pikes Place when we were there. Had lunch in a little place that made French Crepes. So good. We also had a lot of rain. Lol
