Being Brave

Lately I’ve been thinking about what it means to be brave. The dictionary tells us it means to possess or exhibit courage or courageous endurance. This definition barely scratches the surface. I’ve had this dream of having a blog of my own for a year now. I’ve gotten a lot of joy from other people’s blogs and have been longing for a way to share with others in this same way. However, there were lots of reasons to put it off. I didn’t know how the application worked, didn’t know how I would upload photos or create links, or add tags (what are tags?!) In the end I’ve had to face the fact that I was afraid. Afraid of the technology, of not being able to post regularly, or not having enough content to post! I’ve come to realize that I’m not giving myself enough credit. I need to face my fear and march forward. As Nelson Mandela once said:
“I learned that courage was not the absence of fear, but to triumph over it”.
I recently created a birthday card for my nephew Darin that was along this same theme and sharing it here (happy birthday Darin!) Have yourself a courageous weekend.
