Taking it Easy on Texture Tuesday

Taken w/ 35mm @ f.3.5, ISO 500 @ 1/80 sec. Applied Kim Klassen’s ‘within’ preset and her ‘monday’ texture @ linear light 55%, removing most of that from the coffee cup.

Just one picture for a quick post…didn’t want to miss Texture Tuesday! A month ago I was having some serious back problems, but thought I was on the mend. Until yesterday. Well, to be honest my back was feeling a bit tight since last Friday. I was stretching, being cautious and then I lifted a small 10 lb. box from the car yesterday and the was the straw the broke the back. I’ve had to cancel working out for this week and will see the doctor again on Thursday. So, I’m sitting in my garden, drinking coffee and trying to remain calm as I contemplate the long term effects of the condition of my back, the treatment that could be available, and the lifetime limitations this might entail. Taking deep breaths and focusing on all I have to be grateful for on this fine day.

Thank you for stopping by and be sure to make time for yourself. Take care.

  1. oh no – hope you feel better – try and relax!

  2. I remember this spot and I took a shot there, your yard is just full of Be Still moments and I so hope you can find relief from your back. I didn’t get a post up today, but that is ok, I was having some moments yesterday that were not so good, but today is a new day and move forward to greatness. Have a perfect day my friend.

I so hope that you can draw solace from the quiet sitting in the sun.
As long as you can take you mind off the problem.
Let’s hope that it seems worse than it is.
    Keep it warm.
What a high ISO. Is that done for a purpose, to get it more grainy or was there not enough light? I’m always afraid to go much above 100.
I like the mug . did you clean it – digitally I mean 🙂

So sorry to hear about your back…sending healing thoughts your way. I have ongoing rib issues that limit me at times, so I understand your frustration. Your photo is lovely!

Oh Carol, I’m really sorry to hear about your back…been in that same boat a few times. I love your gentle image above…soft colors. It looks like a very relaxing space to be in. Take good care, and I pray the doctor will have positive news for you!! xx

  8. Melinda says:

Ackkkk- sorry to hear this, Carol! Hope you are at least letting hubby treat you like the queen you are while your back heals. Your image today is beautiful- what a lovely garden you must have!

  9. Dotti says:

I love your photo! I haven’t worked with ‘Monday’ yet but I’m seeing lots of possibilities. And bummer on your back! My daughter broke her back falling down the stairs right before our beach vacation this past July. The spine doctor told her if you had to break your back, she broke it in the best possible place. She was a good girl for 6 weeks and followed the doctor’s orders and now she’s back to doing her crossfit workouts and other activities. But backs problems can be notoriously painful and nagging and stay with us for the rest of our lives. Sending you big healing hugs and thoughts. Take care of yourself! You are loved.

  10. Your image is terrific, Carol. I have issues with my back too (a disc problem). Seems when we get to a certain age, things just don’t work like they used to. Mine seems to come and go.
    Feel better soon!

I hope a few days of treating yourself gently will put your back on the mend. Meanwhile, it’s the perfect excuse to sit and enjoy your gorgeous garden. Wish I could join you there for a cuppa!
